I guess a lot has been happening in the last two months or so. First we had guests then, I got busy with deadlines at work, and guests again. The first ten days of July we were on a long deserved vacation. But as usual things have been a bit hectic at work and home.

Summer seems to be a bad time for Aditya’s allergies too. More sleep deprived nights for me as a result. Turns out it’s not food after all, that causes his eczema to flare up. I am glad about that and also that my Mom is visiting. She has been cooking up some really scrumptious faire for us.  Shilpi loves her karepaku chicken and that was his first request, the moment she stepped into the kitchen. We have been eating a lot of that recently.  I will soon be posting some of her recipes. Most of these dishes are really easy.

I will also try and post about our vacation. We went to Denver, Rocky Mountain National Park and Yellow Stone National Park. It had been an amazing trip. We ate at some very nice places and saw some splendid sights. I did not take pictures of the food we ate, but I have  included some good picture of our trip below.

I have heard that our Indian kids in California suffer from a lot of allergy problems. I was told not to put besan on my son, as that causes eczema in kids in CA.

    Hi Deepa,

Thanks for stopping by and the tip. I did use the besan on him when he was a baby, but not for long as the eczema set in pretty early for him.

Right now he takes Homeopathic medicines and his condition has improved a lot. He had actually stopped getting up at nights during the winter. But summer seems to be drying his skin a lot more.

Hopefully he will grow out of it and a few sleep deprived nights for me are better than dousing him with all sorts of steroids. We do use steroid occasionally, when things get out of hand , but we stopped using them on a regular basis about six months after he was on homeo.

Could you tell me apart from homeo what other moisturisers you used, what oils you applied? before and after bath?
