Cauliflower Masala
This is an easy spicy cauliflower dish with potatoes and tomatoes. Though I’d rather not have potatoes, but I decided to include them for Shilpi. He loved the dish. So I will be adding it to my emergency recipe list( for when I am out of ideas or my brain decides to take a break).
Ingredients
Cauliflower – ½ medium, cut into small pieces
Potatoes – 2 medium
Tomato – 1 large, diced
Onion – 1 medium, diced
Green chilies – 4, cut long
Cinnamon stick – 1 inch piece
Cloves – 5
Ginger paste – ½ tsp
Garlic paste – ½ tsp
Cumin powder – ½ tsp
Coriander powder – ½ tsp
Oil - 2 tbsp
Water – ½ cup or as needed
Salt to taste
Method
Heat the oil in a pan and add the cinnamon and cloves. After half a min add the onions and cook till translucent.
Meanwhile bake the potatoes in the microwave, peel and dice.
Season with salt and add the cauliflower and chilies.
Cook for a few minutes and add the tomato. Also add the water to just about cover the cauliflower. Cover and simmer for about 10 min.
Season with cumin and coriander powder and stir to mix well.
Cook for a couple of minutes and remove from heat.
Serve with hot rice or roti.
